The CHI organics line is probably quite welcome to some hair-obsessed among us who like purchasing organic/natural. That's why I tried it--and because the best shampoo/conditioning/misting system for my hair has been the CHI Infra.
Well, it's back to CHI Infra for me.
The Con: This is a really expensive line. This glaze is 18 bucks. But it's no better in terms of results than styling liquids/glazes at half to 2/3 the price you can get from other pro lines. (The shampoo is 24 bucks. Can we say OUCHIE. My CHI Infra shampoo is 10 bucks. And works better for me. The Chi Organics shampoo is too drying and stripping for my curly/color-treated/frizz-prone hair.)
The Pro: Works fine. This glaze, while not adding the kind of shine one can get from the Paul Mitchell one (the one that smells apple-y and really adds luster), does give a bit more volume and stylability. But not enough to justify the price, I think. (Although, let's be fair, anything labelled "organic" costs more, right?) It's not at all oily, and it leaves the hair feeling very clean, even after adding a generous amount.
It's got a strong lemongrass scent. If you don't like that scent, this is not for you. However, it seems to dissipate well, so you don't have a headful of lemongrass all day.
Verdict: It works. But it doesn't work as well as other, less expensive alternatives. And it has that lemongrass smell not everyone will love. But it's made from organic ingredients, so for the back-to-nature crowd, that might be a deciding factor.
