Certainly green tea is healthy to drink, but do the antioxidants in it do anything to protein strands, i.e. hair? I would think if anything that tea is known to dye things brown, not to add strength to protein.
Still, I gave this shampoo a try because at the time I was looking for something simple and cleaning. When it is hot and sweaty out, you want to get your hair REALLY clean at night, so that as you toss and turn on the pillows you are not grinding your face into residue and smegma from the shampoo and conditioner on your hair. You want your pillowcase to be as clean as possible, so that your wide-open pores on your face stay as clean as possible.
I definitely found this Tea Therapy shampoo to be great for this purpose. You can feel that your hair is squeaky clean when you're done shampooing. It has gently but firmly stripped all dirt and other previous shampoo and hair product residue from your hair. Your hair is now as clean as it can be.
As much as some people get addicted to styling products, I definitely suggest you let your hair rest at least one day a week. For your facial skin's health, I also suggest you try to go to sleep with your face and hair as clean as humanly possible. After all, you're going to lay in that "stuff" for probably 8 hours straight. The cleaner your pillowcase, hair and face are at the beginning of the night, the fresher and cleaner your face will look when you wake up.
I would still use something more substantial for special occasions, but I highly recommend this for daily evening use, and for the "days off" when you want your skin and hair to refresh and recharge.
