(More customer reviews)I am sensitive to chemical or strong fragrance odors and have been using an "allergy" formula of carpet cleaner solution for years. But I kind of missed a nice clean light fragrance so I saw this and thought to try it out. I have no problem with natural citrus type scent. I couldn't find in store but did find a retailer where I could purchase a half gallon to reduce the amount of investment in case it was no good.
First off: the directions are pretty confusing to me. It lists a lot of different types of carpet cleaners and the amount of solution to use but none of them seemed to describe mine exactly and it is just the usual upright, squirt it out and suck it up home machine. A Bissell. This stuff says it is highly concentrated but the directions for the closest to my machine (home extractor?) is five ounces to a gallon of water and I think my tank is just about gallon. That doesn't sound very good value to me like a real very concentrated/pricey product.
It cleans OK. Seemed to get a reasonable amount of dirt coming up with the water. Didn't do anything for set-in stains from before I moved in but then again I did not pre-treat them as I figured they were hopeless if the landlord had not gotten them out. I have dragged out the machine and used this for a couple of fresh messes I have made (one being macaronis with tomato sauce and the other steak with steak sauce) and it seems to have done the job - I don't notice the areas attracting dirt. This also does not leave the carpet stiff like some cleaners.
The lack of scent disappointed me as I like citrus and you only smell citrus notes if you stick your nose in the bottle.
Overall, if you want something environmentally responsible and/or have kids or pets you are considered about walking on chemical residue this is something you would be interested in. I am not sure if I would purchase again. If I saw it in the stores where I didn't have to lay out for shipping on top of the premium price I would probably pick it up. Otherwise, I don't think so.
