(More customer reviews)This trio of products left my hair shiny, manageable, and clean, but to be honest I haven't noticed a difference in the thickness of my hair, nor have I seen any new growth. However, I did experience a decrease in 'shedding'. Of course, it could still be too soon; It's been about a month, and I'm about done with the sample sizes, but hair does grow at a relatively slow rate. (I wash my hair every 2-3 days, as a reference.) It's for this reason that I think the starter kit sizes might be a bad idea. By the time you're done with them, it's only just started to work.
I do like the product enough that I bought the larger sizes, plus a bottle of the Nioxin brand vitamins. My hair is noticeably thin, and I'll take any positive change at all, even if it's just less shedding. I remain hopeful, however, that continued use will produce positive results.
Some background on my situation: My (now dark dishwater) blonde hair has always been fine, but I had a lot of it. This slowly changed during my early twenties. I haven't yet figured out why my hair thinned out, but my theories include the birth control pill, stress, dieting, and (least likely) my mother's relatively rough handling of my hair when I was a child (lots of painful french braids). My nails are strong and grow well, but they sort of curve over once they get to a certain length.
I hope that the products will work better in future, and if I see a noticeable change, I will edit this review to reflect that. Of course, as I said, the starter kit sizes that are the focus of this review are probably too small for one to see much change.
ETA: I'm not sure whether it's an effect from the product trio or the vitamins, but I now have to tweeze my eyebrows nearly twice as often as before. Still haven't noticed anything with the hair on my head though. Le sigh.
