(More customer reviews)Well, at least for me it is. Im a guy, and this is the first time in my life i have ever had my hair this long (about 11"). Some people may say, "well, thats not that long, even for a guy" but, their is a but!! My hair is curly!! yes it is curly as hell. I have been growing it out for about a year an a half from a number 2 size clipper haircut. Im the only one in my family with hair this curly so as a kid my mom kept it a good size to show off the curls because she thought it looked cute. When i was old enough to handle it, i always kept it short cut. In high school, to blend in, i straitened it chemically and it looked pretty good but after a while it got annoying, it would frizz if it got wet and dried, so that faze didn't last to long. i have always thought curly hair was a curse so i never let it grow to long, it would be a mess. Until finally i just let it go and here i am, my hair length is almost that of a ruler. I have a dry scalp so i tend to get dandruff if i put to many things in my hair, and this was a big issue for me. so one day, i got selsun blue, it helped a lot with the dandruff, it completely went away. Remember, im a guy, so i thought that that was it, my problems (dandruff) was fixed, i found my shampoo. The dandruff was now gone, but THE NEW PROBLEM was now, every time i went into the shower, it felt like a battle rather then just a simple shower to wash my hair.
i came close to cutting my hair off because of this. selsun blue, although it did its job and completely removed the dandruff from my hair, it left my hair really corse and dry. Making it super hard to untangle my hair in the shower. This quickly lead me to finally cutting my hair. But before i was to cut my hair, i decided to search online trough forums for shampoo people with curly hair use, surprise, this one came out, and i learned a lot of information about the type of hair i have. So i said, whats the worse that can happen, if this shampoo really doesent treat my hair, ill just cut it off. I must insist, i really became like a little kid, i hated taking showers because it hurt so much, i dont know how some women with curly hair do it i used to think. I regretfully walked into the shower looking down trying to prolong the inevitable, time to untangle the hair... not one day went by where i didn't yell out curses or just yell out period while i untangled my hair, pulling out knots of hair. I just thought people with curly hair had to deal with more pain when they took showers, i seriously thought thats the way things where. But, i was so wrong, i was just using the wrong things for the wrong hair type.
I was at a disposition, i used selsun blue because it got rid of my dandruff, but at the same time, dried my hair so much leaving it corse, that the next day when i went to untangle my hair in the shower, i would come close to tears it would hurt so much trying to untangle my hair. I dident try other shampoos that read curly hair or for curly hair because people with curly hair would often say they were deceiving and would not really work, so i stayed on selsun blue, why use another shampoo thats going to give me dandruff and probably leave my hair weightless and fluffy? just stick with the blue i thought.
well, after using this new shampoo and conditioner, i can tell you that, at least for me, it works really well. Part of the reason my hair was so tangled was because i did not use a conditioner (yes, my fault, i have never really known how to take care of my hair properly). Now, its a completely different story, this product leaves my hair nice, with volume, and i can say, i dont feel cursed for having curly hair, in fact , a lot of girls tell me they love my hair, i smile and say thanks, and i think to myself, HA HA HA, if only you knew how much i hated my hair before. This stuff in incredible and i can say now with confidence, i have found my shampoo.
My hair went from from corse dry and tangled, to healthy looking, with nice curls, and volume. When i walk into the shower in the mornings and i see those green bottles standing in the shower wall, i smile, thinking, the days of war are gone. iF MAGIC EXISTS, ITS IN THESE BOTTLES.
