(More customer reviews)After trying Aveeno Living Color, Color Preserving Shampoo, for Medium-Thick Hair, and loving it enough to switch brands, I decided to try the companion conditioner. It is every bit as good as the shampoo and has earned my vote, and a purchase, as well.
I use about 1 tablespoon of conditioner each time. Because it is somewhat thick, I recommend turning the bottle upside down in your shower/tub to promote easier flow. The scent of Aveeno Living Color, Color Preserving Conditioner, like the shampoo's, is very light. This is particularly important to me because my spouse has severe allergies and cannot tolerate a strongly perfumed product. I did notice my hair did not have that slick feel one usually associates with the use of a conditioner. However, this in no way resulted in increased tangles; I actually think I am losing less hair than I had with my previous shampoo and conditioner brand.
My medium weight, chin-length hair is unruly; numerous swirls and cowlicks appear, as if by magic, even when I style my hair. I have to use a flat iron to help tame the fly-aways and, because I color my hair that can lead to damage. What a surprise when I used Aveeno Living Color, Color Preserving Shampoo and the Conditioner together! My hair looked wonderful - sleek and shiney - which is no small feat for a mature individual's hair. Not only was I was able to forego using my flat iron, my hair actually looked better the following day than it had when it was freshly washed and styled. I simply had to run a brush through my hair - it looked great! The big test was washing my hair and allowing it to air-dry. Normally, that results in hair that looks like I had been struck by lightening. Using Aveeno Living Color, Color Preserving Shampoo and Conditioner resulted in very presentable hair with just a few "kinks" that will never go away without use of a flat iron.
I do not know whether Aveeno Living Color, Color Preserving Conditioner, will allow my color to last through 40 washings. However, having used it daily for the last 21 days, I can definitely say that my color is much brighter than it was when I was using my former shampoo and conditioner. That brightness is wonderful as it eliminates the tired look that faded color gives more mature individuals.
Aveeno Living Color, Color Preserving Conditioner, for Medium-Thick Hair, has won me over. I urge you to try it and decide for yourself.
