I have been using Creme of Nature shampoo (regular formula for normal hair) for about 24 years now. This shampoo has ALWAYS been the ABSOLUTE BEST ETHNIC HAIR SHAMPOO ON THE MARKET (in my opinion). I recently purchased a new container of the shampoo. I noticed that the appearance of the product had changed. I read the front of the product, and had the impression that only the APPEARANCE of the product had changed. I started using the product on 12-18-08. I immediately noticed that the product made my hair feel DIFFERENT from the way that it had made it feel for the past 24 years. After washing my hair using the shampoo (as I had always been washing it for the past 24 years), I noticed that the shampoo did NOT make my hair feel ULTRA-SILKY SOFT (as it had made it feel over the past 24 years). I applied oil to my hair after washing it (as I had always been doing), and combed through it, and noticed VERY LITTLE SILKY SOFTNESS. This is the VERY FIRST TIME that I have had this experience with the product. After combing through my hair, I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the way that my hair FELT and LOOKED (as compared to the way that it had always felt and looked after shampooing and combing over the last 24 years). I later read the INGREDIENTS on the back of the product container, and noticed that the manufacturer had REMOVED the following ingredients from the product: Aloe Barbadensis extract, hydrolyzed milk protein, wheat germ oil, honey (mel), lemon extract, Balsam Canada, pectin, lecithin, etc. The manufacturer had not changed the appearance of the product SOLELY (as the manufacturer leads you to believe). The manufacturer ALSO changed the PRODUCT ITSELF. I concluded that the reason why my hair did not look and feel the way that it had always looked and felt after shampooing over the last 24 years is that - for whatever reason - the manufacturer removed several ingredients from the shampoo, and replaced them with SUBSTANDARD ingredients. I do realize that the economy has forced many product manufacturers to find ways to CUT CORNERS and CUT COSTS, but has the economy gotten so bad that the manufacturer of this product would stoop to the level of KNOWINGLY replacing effective product ingredients with LESS EFFECTIVE ingredients, then try to lead consumers to believe that the ONLY thing that has changed is merely the APPEARANCE of the product??? Consumers are not dumb. We know when something is WRONG. There ARE consumers out there who ACTUALLY READ PRODUCT INGREDIENT LABELS. Now I am going to have to find a DIFFERENT shampoo to use (after 24 years).
