(More customer reviews)I've been on the search for a natural shampoo for awhile that will clean my hair as well as the 99 cent stuff at the grocery store (which is full of SLS and other harsh stuff that damages hair). Keys Soap is a company I came across from the Cosmetics Database that the other reviewer mentioned. They have a lot of very earth friendly products.
I tried the Mangrove travel size shampoo first, and hated it. I had to use a lot of it, it lathered ok in my hands, but as soon as I put it on my hair, the lather disappeared. I had to wash my hair about 4 times with that to get it clean. Then I read a review elsewhere that said to use the full size of Mangrove with the lathering pump. It made a huge difference, and that version allows me to get my hair clean with just one washing.
One tip is that if you aren't getting a good lather in your hair (not just in your hands) that is as thick as a man's shaving cream, you haven't used enough shampoo, so pump some more out. Your hair should squeak when you've rinsed it.
I haven't tried the Mangrove conditioner in anything other than the travel size, and I was unimpressed. But I guess that is what happened with the shampoo, and I ended up really liking it when it is used with the foaming dispenser.
My hair is brownish-blond, straight, thin, and long, and it works for me so far.
