(More customer reviews)I bought the ultra lightening 100 "baby's breath blonde" recently and after receiving it, did a little investigating online and discovered that it had been recalled because of a misprint in the directions.
After a little consideration and a strand test, I went ahead with using it anyway.
The package came with two packets of powder bleach, the regular chemicals we're used to with dyes, as well as shampoo and conditioner, a protective hair mask, and a shining serum. Pretty good for a box dye.
I applied it and left it on for about an hour. And...well, my hair is yellow. VERY yellow. But it's bleach and it does that, plus I was trying to bleach over (dyed, not natural) red, I'm lucky it's not more orange.
In some places it's a nice white blonde, but there are definitively yellow sections and even a few orange ones.
Needless to say, my hair's a mess. But I usually dye over bleach anyway, and it's not really the fault of the product that red hair is notoriously hard to get rid of.
I probably won't buy Dream Blondes hair color again, just because of the recall and the fact that it's been pulled from most drug stores in my area, I don't really want to be paying shipping and handling every time I want to dye my hair.
But it wasn't bad, my hair felt the same as it always does after bleach. (A little squeaky) But the conditioner did help a bit.
However I would trade the shining serum, hair mask and shampoo for just a little container of toner.
